John, it’s not necessary for an administrator to approve a tag. You are an administrator, BTW.
Tags appear to have some interesting “features” that do not behave as I would like or expect. It appears that you have to search for ALL the tags that have been applied to a person. In your case, there are several tags, and it you search for the concatenation of ALL the tags, then you do get a result of YOU. There’s got to be a better way. We’ll find it.

I tried tagging myself as PR, then searched, but while the tag Precinct Representative is in the list of tags, I didn’t come up in the search. Does that mean the site administrator has to approve all tags, or just that the server doesn’t immediately process this?
People can be “tagged” as PRs, and then found with a search for that tag. That’s not an ideal solution but there may be a way to turn a search into a dynamic list available via a menu choice or link. It’s definitely been on my to-do list for a while.
