Okay, Representative Melissa Bean voted in favor of Democratic plan for Change. Well done!  My representative, Don Manzullo, on the other hand, voted against healthcare reform.  He just about never votes in the public interest, certainly not mine.   220-215 was last night's vote.

Below is a message from Jessica Palys about the latest goals for health care reform

As we enter the last leg of the health care debate, I wanted to send along a note to thank you for your leadership and let you know what our strategy will be for October and November.  As you know, the House and Senate leadership are merging the final versions of the bills to be debated on the floors of Congress.  We expect this debate to begin within the next week or so, and the debate will last two weeks.  After the bills are voted off of the floor, they will go to conference committee where they will be merged into the final bill.
 
So, what is the best way for our organization to impact the debate?  I believe that the final bill coming out of conference committee will have a strong public health insurance option and all the regulations we have been fighting to pass.  In order to achieve this goal, we need to do the following:
