Wednesday, November 30
After the events of Tuesday, Nov. 8, many Democrats and progressives are disheartened and horrified. We’ve lost the Presidency and the future looks bleak for those who care about justice, equal opportunity and the future of our planet.
We can’t use this as an excuse to give up. Quitting is not an option. Let’s take this defeat as an opportunity to learn from our mistakes and build toward the kind of America we know is possible. We know that defeat is never permanent unless we agree to give up. That’s true nationally as well as locally.
Spring is just around the corner
There are township and municipal elections in just a few months. We need candidates for these offices, and volunteers to help them get elected. Most of these races are non-partisan, and far easier to manage than the state and county contests. It's a great way to build a political résumé, gain experience and find supporters for an eventual run for higher office.
We will meet at McHenry County College in Room B166-167 next to the commons area and the conference center. Park near the flagpole entrance and enter the B Building.
