County Referendum

What are the pros and cons of popular election of the County Board Chair?

The March 18 primary election includes a binding referendum to decide whether to elect the County Board chairman by popular vote, or continue to allow the 24-member board to elect the chairman from among its members. How will you decide which way to cast your ballot?


The Democratic Party of McHenry County meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:15 p.m. at McHenry County College in room B166-167, near the cafeteria and the Commons area of the College.

Park near the flagpole entrance and enter the B Building.

7:15 — Meeting convenes
8:45 — Adjournment and social hour
Please note the meeting will begin PROMPTLY at 7:15, and end no later than 8:45 to allow time for socializing and networking. We must vacate the room by 9:00 p.m.
