If you've never taken the plunge to get involved in political action, we encourage you to get to know us by attending a meeting. We are a growing local party, but we need more people like you to step up and share your perspective. We are building teams of people to tackle projects like data entry and analytics, voter registration, special events, social media and content management, and candidate support and canvassing.
No Kings - Nationwide Day of Defiance
NO KINGS - Nationwide Day of Defiance
June 14th is Flag Day, and trump is planning a big military parade, but we the people are going to be out in huge numbers to say no, and here in McHenry County our new Indivisible NE McHenry County chapter is planning a major public protest.
WHEN: Saturday, June 14th, 2025 -- 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
WHERE: West side of Route 31, north of McCullom Lake Road, McHenry
Visit nokings.org for more info.
Indivisible NE McHenry County writes:
"In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.
"On Saturday, June 14, we’re taking to the streets nationwide. We’re not gathering to feed his ego. We’re building a movement that leaves him behind. The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us. We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it.
"On June 14th, we’re showing up everywhere he isn’t—to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings. Check out nokings.org for more information."

Juneteenth is our newest federal holiday, signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2021, commemorating the date of June 19, 1865, when federal marshals marched into Galveston Texas, bringing the news that the Civil War was over and enforcing President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. An estimated 250,000 enslaved Black people were granted their freedom, and the celebration of freedom, called Juneteenth, became a tradition.

McHenry County Fair 2024
It's that time again - join us at the Fair!
Tuesday July 29th through Sunday August 3rd
Volunteers Needed
There's always plenty of fun to be had at our annual extravaganza, the McHenry County Fair, at the fairgrounds in Woodstock. And there's no better way to have that fun than volunteering for a shift at our Democratic Party booth. We need at least two and preferably three people for each shift. We pay for your admission so it's a great way to combine seeing the fair and doing something highly worthwhile.
We do setup on Monday July 28th. The fair opens at noon on Tuesday July 29th. Opening time on every day thereafter is 10am. Closing time is 9pm Tuesday through Thursday, 10pm on Saturday and Sunday, and then 8pm on the final Sunday day.
Please RSVP and choose your shift. Tuesday's first shift starts an hour before opening time to allow for last-minute setup, and Sunday's last shift allows an hour after closing for teardown. If you have any questions at all please contact us at [email protected].
The fairgrounds are at 11900 Country Club Road, on the north side slightly east of South Eastwood Drive (Route 47). It can be crowded so please allow half an hour for parking, getting into the fair and then finding us. We are in building D this year. It's on the south side of the fairgrounds, backing up to Country Club Rd.
It's really important that we have a good turnout this year. Many of our most dedicated Democrats found us for the first time at the fair. And even if you can't volunteer please plan on dropping by and hanging with us. Thanks so much and see you there!
