McHenry County is divided into seventeen townships, which provide important governmental functions including property assessments and roads. By law townships must hold an annual meeting, often called a town hall, on the second Tuesday in April, although sometimes townships choose a nearby but different date. The town halls are open to the public. It's a great idea to attend your local town hall - it's democracy in action!
Here's the list of the 17 townships, together with their websites, and the date, time and location of their 2025 Town Hall. Most of them are this Tuesday, April 8th, with times varying from 6:00 to 7:00 pm - but do check the list to be sure. Algonquin's and Hartland's are on Wednesday the 9th. The town hall agenda is also provided where we could obtain it.
