Profile
Hi! My name is Sue Rosner. My job is to make sure you get the helpful and trustworthy information you need to vote wisely and to benefit yourself and your community.
I’ve been a volunteer Democratic Precinct Committee person for eight years, and now I am your new local volunteer for Hartland 2 Precinct. I have lived on Bunker Hill Road in Marengo for 23 years with my husband, between Marengo, Harvard and Woodstock. Some of you have met me in years past when I helped out when this district did not have a permanent precinct committee person.
McHenry County is changing. 47% of us our now registered Democrats.
In the past, when there was no precinct committee person, Democrats voted only 35% of the time, while Republicans vote 75% of the time. When a Precinct Committee person is communicating to the district throughout the year, the voting goes up, on the average, to as high as 77%. Thus being a Precinct Committee person is a rewarding experience, making a positive difference in our community.
If you’d like to volunteer, in any capacity, before this coming crucial election, there are openings. And we need you!
Go to McHenrydems.org website, or contact me at 847-727-4829.
A little about myself.
I am a retired nurse of 45 years, a food and medical stylist, food caterer for commercial events, and a creator and teacher of the program “Kids Can Cook”.
Before I moved to Marengo, 23 years ago, I was in living in a community that had a Caucus system. I was a Chairman of one of four city districts. In addition, I was the President of the Parent Network for the Gifted for eight years. Our members researched and advocated for all children. Our advocacy for an improved education system, and extensive research of other schools’ successful programs, enabled us to gain the support of the entire community. This led to our gaining a program director, a gifted coordinator, and a learning disability director, positions that had never been part of our grade school or high school systems until then.
For four years, I coached children in the Odyssey of the Mind program, and was a Girl Scout leader and a school volunteered for many years. For four years, I coached children in the Odyssey of the Mind program, and was a Girl Scout leader and a school volunteer for many years.
Looking forward to working with you.
Sue
