Algonquin's Annual Founders' Day Parade

Be a star by marching with us at the Founders's Day Parade! It's happening this year on Saturday, July 27th, 2024, and the Democratic Party of McHenry County and all our great candidates are proud to participate.  The theme this year is "Let's All Go To the Movies", and we want to be a hit at the box office by having supporters marching with us!  It's always great fun, and we can't wait to show off our new float.  

The parade steps off at 11:00am from the corner of Eastgate Drive and Algonquin Road.  It's an easy walk down the hill on Algonquin, over the river, then south on Main Street and terminating at Madison Street.

We're number 45 in the parade, assembling on Scott Street just west of Eastgate Drive.

For parking, you've got two general choices.  Either (a) park as close as you can get to the assembly point, and after the parade hike back up to your car, or (b) park near the parade terminus, as close you can get to the Congregational Church at 109 Washington Street (big brown building, corner of Washington & Harrison), and from 9am to 10:15 we'll have a shuttle to run you up to the assembly point.  Look for the big red van and the pickup point is right by the church.

Please give yourself plenty of time, as it's usually a mob scene, and if for any reason you can't get to the assembly point before we step off, wait by the route and join us as we march on by, and if you can't find us call Ed Gogol at 815-596-0892.
