Edward Gogol published 2026 Primary Polling Places in Poll Watcher and Election Judge FAQs 2026-03-15 15:47:24 -0500
2026 Primary Polling Places
Here's information on all the polling places in McHenry County, Illinois, for the 2026 General Primary Election, on March 17th, 2026.
Polling Places -- one pager from a PDF published by the Clerk -- shows all polling places, alphabetical by the township and precinct number of the first precinct that votes at that polling place, together with a list of all the precincts that vote there.
Polling Places -- alphabetically by polling place name -- on a 10-page PDF that prints nicely in landscape
Polling Places -- by county board district. (sometimes more than one county board district votes at a polling place
These last two are both 10-page PDF's that print nicely in landscape format, and show for each the precincts that vote there, the districts that vote there, the polling place name, additional info, address, city, state, zip, private (whether it is a public entity such as a library or a private one such as a church), and any notes.
Polling Places -- Excel file -- all of this data, together with a tab for each district showing the polling places for that district
Polling Places Map -- opens in Google Maps, click on a polling place to see the address and the precincts that vote there.
Precincts are shown by township abbreviation and precinct number.
Districts are shown with a C for county board district, H for Illinois house district, S for Illinois senate district, and U for congressional district.
Districts with an asterisk mean that there is a portion of that district in a precinct that primarily votes for another district.

Getting Your Action ID
Here's how to get your logon on the main tool we use for door-knocking.
MiniVan is the smartphone app that we Democrats use for door-knocking ("canvassing".)
Your logon on MiniVan is your email address, and it's called your Action ID. For Democratic Precinct Committeepersons, this is also your logon on Votebuilder.
If you don't already have your Action ID, you can sign up on the MiniVan app, but it's even easier to do on the web, and here's the link:

Edward Gogol published Democratic Precinct Committeeperson Role Description in Resources 2024-02-25 16:46:41 -0600
Democratic Precinct Committeeperson Role Description
What is a Democratic Precinct Committeeperson (PC) and how does one become one?
Being a Precinct Committeeperson (PC) is the most important role in the Democratic Party of McHenry County. We are the "boots on the ground", charged with getting out the Democratic vote and electing Democrats up and down the ballot. It's a highly customizable role, we do it together, we have fun, and you won't meet a nicer group of people.
It's actually an elective office. PC's are elected for a two-year term in the March primary election in even-numbered years, and may also be appointed by the party chair if no one is elected.
Here's the complete description of the role. If you'd like to learn more please reach out to our party's vice chair at [email protected] or 815-596-0892.
