Information session on How (& Why) to Run for Municipal Office
Thinking of how you can give back to your community? Want to make a difference in the lives of kids, seniors, and others in your community? Local races have the power to affect meaningful change, a change that impacts people in their everyday lives. There are extremists who have targeted these races - we cannot let them run unopposed!
The petition passing period has already started. Most positions need less than 100 signatures. THE TIME TO RUN IS NOW!
In partnership with McHenry County Democratic Women, we are offering a primer on how to run for municipal office. Hear from current and former officials about their experience. Get petitions and other paperwork that you need to file. Learn how to get signatures and campaign for office. Although most offices are non-partisan, this session is for those who align their positions regarding teaching history, book banning, equal access issues, and generally with the Democratic Party. And refreshments will be served!
Join us at McHenry County College's Conference Center on October 25th starting at 6:30 pm. Registration is free but required. You can RSVP here or by going to the McHenry County Democratic Women's page.
