Sue Rose posts on Indivisible's Facebook: "Please join us at our Support Social Security rally on Friday, May 23rd, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on the vacant public land near the Woodstock Social Security office at the southeast corner of US Highway 14 and Lake Shore Dr.
"Republicans in Congress recently confirmed Trump supporter Frank Bisignano as the head of the Social Security Administration (SSA). Bisignano and his wife contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Trump's campaign, so it's no surprise that he has now been given an important job in the Trump administration. Bisignano has a reputation of gutting and privatizing companies, and although he claims that he has no intention of privatizing Social Security, his history with other organizations has proven otherwise. Additionally, the plans to close some SSA field offices and lay off more than 7000 SSA staff will make it more difficult for recipients to get help, and it puts Social Security benefits at immediate risk.
"Let your voice be heard! Come to this rally to protest what the Trump administration is planning on doing to Social Security. Tell them to keep their hands off of Social Security!"
