We are celebrating indictments at
Drinking Liberally on Aug 9th!
This month we will be raising a glass to Jack Smith and the defense of our democracy at our local chapter of Drinking Liberally. We eat, drink, socialize, and talk about national and local political issues with our like-minded friends. We are the answer to the question, "Am I the only liberal in McHenry County?"...the answer is NO!
Ask for the Drinking Liberally group at the door, or look for our Drinking Liberally table sign. Space is very limited, so make sure to RSVP if you plan on attending.
Vine & Plate - 414 Virginia St., Crystal Lake | 7-9pm
Vine & Plate specializes in small plates, wine flights and craft cocktails. We usually meet in the back room, which is usually quieter than the bar area, and gives us room to spread out.
On this day in history - you won't believe it!

Faced with the near-certain prospect of impeachment for his role in the Watergate scandal, U.S. President Richard M. Nixon announced his resignation on this day in 1974 and was succeeded by Gerald Ford the following day.
Drinking Liberally is an informal, inclusive progressive social group. Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics or any other topic that comes to mind. You don't need to be a policy expert and this isn't a book club — just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent frustration and hang out in an environment where it's not taboo to talk politics. Don't worry if you don't drink alcohol. Many of our members prefer soft drinks.
Drinking Liberally is a nationally chartered non-profit. It is not affiliated with the Democratic Party, but we do encourage your attendance if you are looking for a fun and relaxed way to get involved. Learn more about Drinking Liberally and Living Liberally at www.livingliberally.org/drinking
