Join us at Jude’s Cocktails in downtown Crystal Lake
Are you sick of Zoom? Are you ready to see old friends and make some new ones? Then join us at Jude’s Cocktails on Wednesday, July 14, at 7:00 p.m. to eat, drink, socialize, and meet some like-minded people. Last month was our last, and we hope, final Zoom virtual meeting for this group. If you are ready to get out and mingle with your progressive friends again, this is your chance. We’ve reserved space in the back dining area, and we will keep the conversation going until at least 9:00 p.m. There will be a few free appetizers to welcome you back. Ask for the Drinking Liberally group at the door, or look for our Drinking Liberally table sign.
On this day in history
- On July 14, 1789, French revolutionaries stormed the Bastille. This signaled the beginning of the French Revolution, a decade of political terror in which tens of thousands of people, including the king and his wife Marie Antoinette, were executed.
- On July 14, 2016, a terrorist drove a truck through a Bastille Day celebration in Nice, France. Eighty-six were killed, including 10 children, and over 400 spectators were left injured.
Drinking Liberally is an informal, inclusive progressive social group. Raise your spirits with us while you raise your glass. Share ideas with friends new and old. Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics or any other topic that comes to mind. You don't need to be a policy expert and this isn't a book club — just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent frustration and hang out in an environment where it's not taboo to talk politics. Don't worry if you don't drink alcohol. Many of our members prefer soft drinks.
Drinking Liberally is a nationally chartered non-profit. It is not affiliated with the Democratic Party. Learn more about Drinking Liberally and Living Liberally at www.livingliberally.org/drinking
